Does Our Evangelism Glorify God?

God does not want our religion OR our lip-service! He wants our hearts! Behold Me, Behold Me:
Evangelism that Glorifies God, is a call to turn to God with our whole heart and to lead others to do the same!

Because a child’s brain is not fully developed, his spiritual training must be commensurate spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. Science has proven that a child’s brain is not fully developed until they are in their mid-twenties. The last area to fully mature is the Prefrontal Cortex, the area of the brain known as the executive center. This area is responsible for coordinating complex cognitive functions such as reasoning, behavioral control, attentional control, planning and understanding the consequences of decisions as well as inhibiting poor choices.

The connections are still developing between their emotional and rational thinking. Being able to process and regulate their emotions in order to formulate a logical response is basically beyond their ability. That is why it is necessary for us to continually teach them principles for behavior and appropriate responses that they then practice throughout their childhood.

Could this be why God tells us to train up a child, and not just to encourage an early decision?

Spiritual training helps to give them the tools they need. Memorizing scriptures and learning spiritual principles even aides in the development of their brains by encouraging connections to the prefrontal cortex, while offering exciting fun and games is of little benefit.

As Christian women, there is probably nothing more heartbreaking than seeing our children turn from God. We spend thousands of dollars, and sacrifice countless hours to VBS, Bible clubs, Youth outings, Church camp, and children’s parties every year. We build elaborate stage sets, plan fantastic carnivals, and youth extravaganzas and bus in all the children and teens we can find in the hopes of leading them to Christ; and yet we are still losing them!

The majority of children that we “lead to the Lord” turn away from God, and go out into the world embracing every sin imaginable never to darken the doors of a Church again; and we tell ourselves that at least they got saved when they were three or five, or whatever age, so that we can sleep at night.

In Why Are We Losing the Kids? You’ll see where we have gone wrong and where to go from here.

• We can turn the tide on our failing ministry efforts!
• We can share the gospel without creating false converts or backsliders!
• We can keep the kids if we’ll follow God’s plan!

The Bible has the answers if we’re willing to hear them!

While the physical aspects of life's journey can be easily seen, the spiritual are often more
difficult to recognize and to navigate. In Seasons of Life: Man's Journey from the Garden to
Glory, author Sandra M. Platt tells the story of one mans spiritual journey as he comes to
understand his lost condition and begins his Christian life. Through the wooing of the Holy
Spirit, he begins to acknowledge God and work in his life. Platt takes us from the barren
wasteland of sin to repentance, where through faith he is born again into new life in Christ. We
walk with Him through the seasons of sanctification and see the Lords hand carefully pruning,
strengthening, and preparing him to bear fruit. The spiritual journey of Seasons of Life: Mans
Journey from the Garden to Glory lights the way to the strait gate of salvation and beyond,
giving courage to fight the good fight, and wisdom to navigate the narrow path. Gods word is
illustrated through shared experiences, revealing biblical principles applicable to all.
